Jules,

Omnipoint would seem to make sense to me for a MCI WorldCom acquisition.

While this would not give MCI WorldCom the large subscriber base of AirTouch it would give them a much more substantial footprint and a rather state of the art digital network that is built out nicely. In addition GSM offers some real advantages over other technologies for wireless data.

There are probably relatively few MCI employees if any from the old wireless division of MCI that everybody expected to be a major player in the FCC PCS auctions but if they had played they would have chosen GSM I believe.

If MCI WorldCom goes after Omnipoint I suspect they would also go after some other members of the GSM Alliance as well and GSM certainly needs a recognizable brand name.

I really can't see MCI WorldCom staying out of PCS.
