Jeff, When I read Bill's post, It was apparent his thoughts were based on more than just a "personal hunch". I think he added that statement in a self deprecating manner, and was in effect saying, "let these facts speak for themselves!"

If you consider each of Bill's points, it's hard to see anything other than a successful outcome. IMO it would be wise to take advantage of the single digit share price to add to positions, due to the growing consensus that it is a matter of when, not if, and positive news may come at any time.

Jeff> I too am a little frustrated because they could be more forth coming and still protect the company from a lawsuit. However, it might be that they have different reasons for remaining silent, quite possibly the potential clients demand silence so then it is not a matter of forgetting the little guy but a prerequisite of getting a contract. It may be that Lev thinks that he can only communicate with us is through "hearsay" posts for now. I agree that this is less than satisfactory but it might be the best we can get for now. duckster P.S. Unless we can persuade Larry to buy some stock he might not be able to get into the annual meeting.

Hi, Jeff,

I appreciate your compliments of my "manifesto," and your vote for me to go to Henderson for the shareholder meeting. I share your frustration about the lack of information. I am even tempted to go to the meeting. I am wavering back and forth, but other commitments and considerations (including keeping my fiancee happy) will probably preclude it. (It's very important to keep her happy...but I'm still thinking about it...after all she's an old social acquaintance of Bert Roberts and that could be interesting... maybe I could pass him a note from her...and he'd remember her because NObody forgets her and it hasn't been all that long anyway...but she likes Vegas and would kill me if I went alone but she has a christening of a grandchild coming up that weekend and she's not going to skip that...and, well, we were just in Vegas in November and it always turns out pretty expensive, and...hummmm...I better just forget the whole thing...self-preservation is important too and I don't need to get anything stirred up here, and it'd be too cold for the balloon ride across Vegas we were supposed to take in November and we're going back in September if not this spring too, and it's a long way to go for what probably will be a routine meeting running an hour or so, not including the coffee and donuts...but I suppose I could deduct a bit of the expense from my taxes...damn, I hate these quandaries...always love going to Vegas -- my home town -- and this would be a great excuse, and I do have a lot invested in Valence and keeping tabs on it is important, and...damn, I wish they'd had their meeting in November like they did last year...STOP!STOP...) Oh, excuse me; I got carried away.

Anyway, what I'd like to have ideally would be a half-hour of Lev's undivided attention (and candor, within reason) to hear his views about the whole problem of giving out information about Valence's progress and prospects. Of course I'd like to have the whole inside scoop about everything, but even more I'd like to know that there are substantive reasons for his current treatment of the flow of information. I'd like to know that he's thought carefully about this aspect of the problem of managing Valence, and that his conclusions were the best under the circumstances. This reassurance would make it easier to be patient while we wait and wait.

Regards, lws

PS. For those of you wondering about my reverie, note that the operative word is "grandchild."

Jeff, I am feeling extremely frustrated as well. But as others have pointed out, it just may be possible that customers want to make their own 'splash' in the marketplace, so that Lev can't announce anything related to contracts until the end customer does. So until that occurs, all we can do is infer from financial specifics.

I'm more concerned that we actually get access to last quarter's financials at the Feb. 4th meeting. I noticed that VLNC has a habit of filing their quarterly statements with the SEC on the 11th of the second month following the end of the quarter. That would put it a full week after the meeting. But you'd think they'd have their numbers together before then, and have handed them off to the lawyers already.

My hope is that we meet the new CFO, AND he presents us with last quarter's financials, which then happen to show increased spending, which we then are able to provoke some discussion about. All of this, without making ANY promises about the future which the company would be legally liable for. Just talk about what was done, and what they are currently doing. We deserve that much, I agree.

I vote my 2x,xxx shares (2000+ of them from the 1994 bargain sale!)

HQ (aka Rich W., on this thread only)

P.S. I have been trying out my friend's SI account, posting initially at his request, in a minimal fashion, for information purposes only. This alias is his alone, on other threads. This may explain my not using my own name, but his chosen moniker 'HellQat,' curiously named after his cat, 'Qatsi' (Hopi Indian word for 'balance'), named after the movie 'Koyaanisqatsi' ('Life out of balance'). I felt you deserved a response to your post in this case, however, so I chose to post this. Next week I'll have my own account, and will be posting more freely.... and responding (re: my last 'opinion' post, which seemed to prompt replies, some quite off the mark). Yes, the trial period sold me... I was missing something by only lurking all this time...

I like the suggestion that we have at least one spokesperson at the meeting.

I have been thinking about going. I still haven't received the proxy. But I believe it's on Feb 4th in Henderson, NV. Is Henderson near Reno or Las Vegas. I live in San Francisco, anyone else from SF thinking about going ? It would be nice to hook up with someone on this board if I knew they were going. It might move me to actually decide to go.
