That's exactly right.
I worked for a company that went public. I watched the analysts talking to the management. They knew NOTHING about the industry. I'm serious. NOTHING. I was astounded when I ACTUALLY told them things that they NEVER knew.
I couldn't believe that I was putting faith in their intellectual abilities. They couldn't figure out the damn industry. Yet they somehow knew something about the company?
To this day, I laugh at these morons. I rarely pay attention to their up/downgrades. I welcome the upgrades when they are attached to my stocks, but I don't care.

Another thing. I'm watching CNBC and they are talking VERY POSITIVELY about AAPL. Why anyone would want to sell is beyond me. They even (mildly) took a shot at the downgrade.
