Powertel Selects TTI Telecom to Install a Network Surveillance System PETAH TIKVA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan 20, 1999--TTI Team Telecom (NASDAQ: TTILF - news; ''TTI'') announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Powertel, Inc., a leading wireless Personal Communications Service (PCS) provider serving the Southeastern United States, to provide a Netrac SS7 Network Surveillance System. Installation will be completed by the end of the second quarter 1999. Powertel will utilize the Netrac SS7 Network Management System to detect network irregularities and performance problems before they become service affecting, thus ensuring a high quality network to its PCS/GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) subscribers. GSM is considered to be the most highly advanced wireless communication standard today. The acceptance of GSM as a worldwide standard will enable global roaming using one single handset.
