I Reasons why AAPL down today 1. Overall market down, Brazil worries; therefore justification for profit taking-generally 2. Internuts downtrending past 3 days; most believe losses in nuts will carry NAZ down too, short term 3. Buy the rumor, sell the news; for AAPL good news gets negative spin from SSB 4. Brokerage houses jacking around with a historically high volatility stock; N.B. downgrade Oppenheimer a few days ago, upgrade by CS First just before EPS release; downgrade by SSB 5. Big short positions use thier influence to move the stock down short term before tomorrow's expiry; Max Pain? 6. Long term and overriding skepticism about AAPL on the Street. Just some random musings I took profits before EPS announcement, not patting myself on back; most likely will look back on price today and kick myself for not holding, as company continues to execute thru 99; in fact put in over nite low ball buy order at 42 1/2; I may see it I' ll continue to follow this company this year Good luck to all, vocex
