Silly Poll. 1) You can believe that Microsoft is overall good for the economy while believing that they broke the law, have done damage to the economy that they didn't have to do had they kept within the law, and should get stomped on by the DOJ for their transgressions. So I'd answer yes to question # 1, too. 2) Note the discrepency between questions 5 and 6 #5 Have you heard about the lawsuit (66% yes, 34% No) #6 Do you think the lawsuit is more to help competitors than to help consumers? More to help competitors 40% More to help consumers 29% Both equally 7% Neither 5% Not Sure 19% For one thing, they asked question #6 of everyone, whether or not they answered yes to question #5. Since 34% answered no to question #5, but 19% answered Not sure to #6, at LEAST 15% of people who hadn't heard of the lawsuit contributed their opinion about it. Good Job, Poll Firm. The same goes with the rest of the questions. 3) Here's the question that they didn't ask: "Do you think the lawsuit helps consumers, whether or not it also helps competitors?" Up to 100% of the people polled could answer yes to that question even given their answers to #6. 4) It's a traditional ploy to give a fact that's pro your side followed by a question. People tend to answer these things based on the latest news they got. So of course they will answer favorably to Microsoft after given one fact favorable to Microsoft. That's questions 7,8,9. 5) for those of you who think that this lawsuit hasn't damaged the public view of Microsoft----- what do you think the results of these polls would have been two years ago compared to today?
