KEMAH, Texas, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Holding company American International Industries Inc. on Tuesday said it is in discussions with Hertz Technology Group Inc. on a possible merger, acquisition, or other business arrangement. American International has bought a 9.7 percent stake in Hertz, which makes ergonomic office furniture and custom-designed personal computers. Hertz shares were bought in the open market, it said. No business arrangements have been reached as yet, American International said in its statement. Herz shares fell 1/16 to 3-1/16. American International was unchanged at $0.28.
