The stock will trade with dividends after the ex- dividend date. So if a person bought the stock on the ex-dividend date the new owner will get the dividend. The price of the stock adjusts for the dividend on the ex-dividend date.
Either the old owner or new owner will get the dividend depending on the date of trade and the ex-dividend date.
