Well I did read a few more of those Galt posts from the early days and found some very interesting discussion. But it wasn't posted by Galt or TB. In particular, the debate on free will vs. fate by Quinelly et al was stimulating.

My take on this issue is not polemic--free will and fate are not mutually exclusive, but concurrent:

Man is in a boat on a river--a river which has currents (fate). Left only to the dictates of the river's flow, he will arrive where the river takes him. But man also has paddles (free will ) which offer him the opportunity to navigate the river's currents, and in doing so, participate in his destiny
