Hisham, I agree.
Wasn't Mr. Goizuitta of Coke a Cuban who made COKE a huge winner.
Onething in short term, an articulate CEO can communicate well with wallstreet ANALysts and keep the stock high. In a long term it doesn't matter. But the stock price is what determines how well they can buy other companies for cheap by paper. ex. WCOM buying MCI. AOL buying NSCP and so on. LU buying ASND is another example.

That's not true.

Yes, it is. Your two examples, or 10 examples don't make it otherwise. And Andy ALWAYS captivated me when I listened to him speak. I've never heard Eric. Mory puts me to sleep. (Sorry Mr. Fun). This doesn't take anything away from his accomplishments. Nor would I ever attempt to do that.

Investors do not care about accents or even nationalities, otherwise no one would have invested in
those ADR foreign companies in the NYSE. They care about profits and business prospects. Have
you looked at Nokia (NOK.A) recently, a large Fortune-500 company based in Finland with a large
business in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Their stock appreciated by more than 250% at the
NYSE just last year and their top people are not even American. Also, the Chrysler investors
cheered the acquisition by Daimler-Benz; they did not care about the German accents.

100% agree, again...

CEOs are polished by their accomplishments and qualifications, not by their accents or how they look.

Actually, I always thought Mory dressed rather well <g>.

And who said that ASND will not outperform CSCO in the "middle growth phase"? It is now even more possible than ever!

I think it will be impossible for us to ever judge this. ASND just skipped over middle growth, to mature company. Although to paraphrase the dynamic Richard McGinn, "LU is a $30B startup".
