Tom: I feel your pain. It's interesting about the little biotechs. I have a small position in HIV, also up on earnings. Strike that. Not earnings; rather on smaller loss than last time around. And with a decent -- if not overwhelming -- supply of cash, which the company uses very cautiously, maybe too cautiously. I think what we may be seeing is a realization that a lot of these companies are NOT going to fall into the pits tomorrow. The well-managed ones will survive (in the face of turmoil in the money markets) and in the case of companies with promising lines of research, the value potential is still there. Could this be a good opportunity to move in to some longish positions in promising smaller biotechs? The last three or four months has brought a lot of them down. By the way, I played BLSI last summer for a small loss. Regards, M2
PS: ENMD closed like a friggin rocket today. Must be the human trials, don't you think? On the other side of the coin, I have a very long term position in WFMI which got slammed on earnings warning. Sigh. Picked up a little more tho (and now that's down).
