my gramps...a 65 y/o farmer all his life who never even had a VCR is now addicted to CNBC and went out to buy a notebook computer so he could sit on the couch and trade the stocks they mention on CNBC...he buys everything at its high ..talks to me on AOL through IM's and will not listen to a word I say...I have actually started shorting the stocks he buys! I really regret taking my notebook up last summer and showing him what I do!

He's in danger of becoming an addict since he has evidenced compulsive gambling behavior in the past. If he were my dad, I would try to convince him to avoid opening a daytrading account. He might lose all of his gains and more.
