At the end of quarter 2 AMD dumped a bunch of chips to Brazil and reduced ASPs. They sold off the stock. Same thing kind of happened again. Maybe not Brazil but dumping. ASPs came in low. Average analyst sees this as losing to Intel. So they sell off the stock.
Also remember the stock sold off after q3s earnings because Jerry said that ASPs would remain about $100. These guys only know margins...they freak when they hear lower sales prices.
I don't remember anyone here saying the CC wasn't upbeat. Just the usual, Jerry is full of BS, routine...from the anti-AMD crowd.

Au Contraire. I've heard that Kumar worked at AMD for quite a while. There's another one that worked at Intel, is it Dan Niles of Rob't Stephens?
