to continue the discussion, while many large businesses have installed ERP and even SCM, the fact is no business can go into the next millenium without these types of systems. they just can't compete; with the ability to raise prices curtailed by competition they have to cut costs, cut inventory, cut headcount etc. these types of systems (and i also like the smaller vertical cos. like ROSS) are a requirement.

there will be fallout; there will be consolidation but they should be long term winners. remember, much of the world, outside of fortune 500, has not installed these systems yet.

finally, there are new IT and outsourcing services that these cos. are developing all the time includung ecommerce. PSFT, IMIC are already strong in these areas.

ps. the nice thing about SI is most have had to pay to post so much of crap has been weeded out.
