Skeets, I am thinking CDWC's eps may have gotten whacked. The stock price certainly says differently. But my thesis is based upon lower prices for boxes, much lower prices, and CDWC is mainly in the low priced area. Also, Compaq, their top-selling box supplier, went into competition with them last quarter, though primarily at the business end.

BTW, I tried out the order process for one of CPQ's "build em yourself" computers at Best Buy. You just poke what you want into the machine and it adds it all up at one "low" price. First, the program was incredibly slow. I am talking about minutes between pages after you make choices. That will not fly, IMHO. I may have just gotten a bad program, but it does not make a buyer confident in the Compaq concept. However, the main problem was, the stripped down model on hte program cost about $250 more than the fully loaded IBMs, NECs and even Compaqs selling on the shelf right next to the build em yourself program. No wonder I was the only one who gave the machine a second glance.
