There is only one big problem with the Prudential Research report.

It contradicts statements from the CEO of Lucent about a 2% to 4% increase in EPS for year 2000. What makes these dipshit analysts think they have better insight into Lucent's future earnings than the CEO running the company????

Who did due diligence on Ascend's operation before making the deal? Was it the ANALysts? No!

Who had an inside look at Ascend's backlog before offering 20B for the company? Was it the ANALysts? No!

Who is directly talking to customers about future sales? Is it the ANALysts? Hell No! It's Lucent & Ascend.

CEO's, officers, and sales managers always know more about the companies future than the stupid ANALysts.

You can bank on what the Lucent CEO stated and ignore the out-of-the-loop Prudential boneheads!!
