Dow Jones just reported that a judge of the Federal Supreme Court has ruled that Rio Grande do Sul could pay a portion of its debt payments to the Federal government into escrow pending a review of that state's claims that it cannot pay its Federal debts. As with the privatization legal maneuvers, it appears that this could be a significant delaying tactic. What was not mentioned, however, it whether this ploy circumvents the state's agreement with Brasilia that would allow Brasilia to withold payments to the state as with the case in Minas Gerais. Any Brazilian legal talent know the answer? If it does, I can see TBH at the 35 level in the very near future.

On a positive note, Dow Jones confirmed that the Senate has put the second vote on the CMPF on the calendar for next Tuesday.

Finally, could one of the more internet adept posters send me a private e-mail with idiot proof isntructions on how I can pull net pages from other sites into these responses so that others can view the primary source without my commentary?
