"CM can make a huge profit selling Nextel and use those funds for the development of his fibre optic network."

Bingo! That's exactly what I think is happening. But is he selling the whole enchilada or just a slice of pizza?

As far as Brazil is concerned, NXTL's slow start there minimizes the impact on the balance sheet. The bigger impact is that NI's ipo keeps getting put off further into the future because it cannot stand on its own in the midst of so much uncertainty. Mexico is the next domino to fall imho.

Does anyone really think Nextel or PCS are even 10 %
or capacity? Nextel, PCS will give America what it
needs. Inexpensive Wirless telecoms. These companies,
which have three times as many POPS as Airtouch, will
make it very affordable for people to have unlimited
roaming, etc. Look at Orange (U.K.), the 21+ Billion
Co. which only has a U.K. presence. The future is
wireless. Invest in Echostar (DISH), PCS, NXTL.
