Blue, "Making a Million in Internets" sums it & that CNBC WS guy should see it along with your other post about him (but personally I'd rather watch 'em drag the bathroom tissue from a shoe than tell 'em about it when we don't like 'em LOL). His Name Is Legion; another WS clone was on Bloomblubber News tonight - now another WS clone is in trouble with The Original for giving the game away too! Bloomblurb newscaster asked him about (what else) Internet Stocks. He didn't want to discuss internets & changed the subject, but the anchor vollied the ball right back, he had no choice. As he spoke of Internets (a pc sourmouth was in place but clone wasn't trained in control of body language yet) the head nod and posture told the true tale. Telling statements were "WE (We, Kimosavee?)HATE TO SEE all the amateur investors in this sector making big money and showing other amateurs how"(as his head bobbed yes)."They're going to get hurt"(as his head nodded no). The posture was arms-folded defensive mode; the only time the body language agreed with the blab was "The Internet is more important than anyone thought it would be. It's about to become the backbone of all business for a long time" as news anchor pressed him for a Close and he knew he'd Lost It.
(WS clonemeisters should replace the drama coach pronto, let's not tell 'em, LOL).
Blue IMHO the thing is, This Is The Big One That Got Away From 'Em! The whole "web-frenzy" thing just rocketed in '98, did it not? 'Twas a "People's Movement" snuck up on 'em from behind! Can anyone remember a time when a hot sector didn't Fall Into Line Behind a WallStreet foreplay and control? Internets didn't! They fought It. They still fight It. They're trying to catch the reins of the runaway horse with "Some Internets are OK Now" "Professional Management is Crucial" "Volatility Is Risk" " "Amateur Investors Will Get Hurt" "Some Internets with good earnings and low P/E's are OK" (if sincere they'd use ATT & IBM as examples but no)and ta-da "Our Internet Funds are Projected to give an outstanding return in '99).
Blue, the netstock crashes from bad news hypes we saw and those giant big block buys we saw that didn't move the share price; was Big Boys trying to play catch-up. As the sector explodes from this point, as one of the minority of investors in it up til now (and we still are),
we can expect some more phenomena and shenanigans a couple more times as they attempt to play more catch-up to what sneaked up behind 'em.
I agree with you about the IAP's and your ranking of the Tiers Of Internet Importance. I've been frantically maneuvering with the smaller share priced stuff to be able to afford to approach it. You inspired me to Consolidate some of it today, still got more to trade in for Big Dotcoms, & still got some good apples in the pennies that are still so green that it'd be a shame to pick 'em so early. Big share amounts worth not many dollars right now; but predict 1/2 of my penny nets are Tomorrow's Blue Ribbon Yearlings, Today. Why? Because They're Being Helped To Be!! Never seen so many sudden share buybacks and shares traded for growth cash to venture capitalists and banks as lately in certain nas/otc i-net pennies. It's one of my criteria before I buy. Pals, here's the IAP's Shopping List Again .. thelist.internet.com - Happy 909's.
Thanks again, Blue, for the nudge today, and your series,
Joan
