From Briefing.com last night Apologies if posted already: Note comment about snapping up shares on weakness... Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 32 1/2 +1) missed its number by 4 cents in posting a gain of $0.15... Company blamed a production glitch for preventing from shipping as many high yield chips as expected for the disappointing results... However, company claims glitch resolved... More impressively, management noted that it sees a near 10% improvement in gross margins in FY99 over FY98... Street will have its doubters but Briefing.com would use weakness on the earnings miss to snap up shares for the longer-term... Stock down more than 3 points in after hours trading.
