Rod, I'd be very interested to hear your decision. I believe - repeat, believe - that with MBT you need to set up a separate account. What I'd be interested in knowing is whether you can trade options directly thru your account at ABW. I've heard of another broker that offers cheap option trading, but I know nothing about them, so this is just offered as further research: www.preferredtrade. haven't even accessed their site yet.

Hey Rod, glad we are still in the running! Actually there is one huge advantage ABW has over ANY electronic trading firm over the Internet for options. We are the ONLY firm with the ability for our clients to interact directly with RAES, which is essentially the Chicago equivalent of NASDAQ SOES, but for options. Buying puts and calls is completely automated (if eligible - general guideline is ten contracts or less of a ten dollar value or less),as is selling those positions. Executions are very fast. On the downside, all we allow our options traders to do is buy puts and calls, sell only to close long positions and write covered (by equity) calls. We do not provide margin for options trading. No naked positions. If these parameters are not too constrictive for you, then our executions are easily the best. Best of luck with whoever you choose.
