While surfing all my regular haunts I found this over on CBS MARKETWATCH:

cbs.marketwatch.com
?source=htx/http2_mw

Think about it for a moment...Of course the Golden Books spokeswoman did not return calls....Would you???

Consider this: That Disney was in a meeting/discussion or whatever two days ago with Golden Books, but Golden Books share price was a fraction of what it closed at today.

Do you announce into this buying frenzy that a deal is in the works NOW, of course you don't!!!

Why should or would Disney buy Golden at this price when all it has to do is sit back & wait....wait a few days until the feeding frenzy is over. And with no news, It will be over very quickly. Compound that with when the shorters are done with this stock, Disney will be able to pick it up for the original discussed price of a few days ago.

If I were Disney, I would do the same thing. My guess is that we will see Disney on the scene but it's not going to be for at least a week & it definately won't happen till all the daytraders, shorters, hypesters & the like are gone.

Yes, IMHO Disney is going to buy Golden Books, but it's not going to happen till we all least expect it.

Personally, I'm going to hope that i'm totally wrong & that announcement we all hope is coming gets here 20 min. after the opening bell.....

Hey, but what the hell do I know??? Good Luck to us all!!!

''It would be pretty easy for Disney to turn that around,'' said Sean Egan, managing director of Egan-Jones Ratings Co.

Egan estimates Golden would fetch about $350 million in a sale, assuming the acquirer included the face value of the company's $300 million in debt.

This Egan guy must have a ton of stock........otherwise he'd realize all Disney has to do is offer to repay Senior debt holders a fraction of the current outstanding debt (which the company is unable to pay at the moment) and Disney could buy the entire company for a lot less than $350,000,000.......money losing publishing companies usually don't sell for a premium..........I can't believe the press actually prints this stuff.

27.9 million shares outstanding would put the sale price at $12.50 per share! I can't believe the float turned over 16x in the past two days. The MM's must be selling short to almost everyone and hoping/praying that the Disney story is just a fairy tale. This could become the biggest short squeeze in history! It ain't going to happen but if everyone called their shares in certificate form.....look out!
