Just wait until e-commerce finally does become big enough to take a bite out of normal retail taxation. The no-sales tax price advantage will disappear and Amazon and others will have to cut costs even further to offset shipping costs.

Here's why low-margin e-tailing will FAIL UTTERLY FOLKS.

It is infinitely cheaper to ship a truckful of books to a bricks and mortar store than it is to ship each book individually to millions of customers. Simple physics, no way to get around it. Once tax benefits are taken out of the equation, only high margin goods such as electronics and perfume and jewelry will be left.. (Glenn, new biz idea??)

This post is to all on this thread:

I am out of my net long on AMZN with a small profit on the net long position but a large loss in total being short AMZN. I chose to cover the short shares yesterday based on the short term stock movement and then was going to close the long shares. In the middle of this, Brazil cause the market to really tank. I decided to hold over night.

I believe it should be clear to everyone that I am bearish on AMZN. Yet last night, all I heard was about a gap down today. Not one person came along and stated a dead cat bounce was possible. There was no emotional support here. None! Yet I have had private emails and posts from people that lost a lot of money on the internuts. As much as I was in pain, I did everything possible to help these people feel better about their "error." I am not sure it was an error or they were smart but the hype by these analysts and the actions of day traders make these stocks just like a casino. Roll the dice and you may win.

My point is this thread in general should be ashamed. Maybe I treat people too much like they have feelings. That is me. Many of you could care less about people but only care about the all mighty dollar.

With that said, I am now finished with AMZN. No plans to play it some more. No interest in it and have learned two two very important lessons.

1. Do not fight the tape and cut losses.

2. Most people on SI care about no one except themselves.

Most of you, thank you for nothing. There exceptions and those exceptions know who they are.
