''The sale of ISG strengthens HIE's focus...

The truth can be very refreshing at times! This segment of business is a left over from the Pre-Murrie era and the decision to divest it is a very smart one indeed. It generates cash, removes a competitive rub to many HIE Heathcare business partners, creates a new, strong and respected alliance for Cloverleaf in Healthcare; but most important removes one of the stigmas that continued to keep the word "health" far to prominent in the name HIE. With this action, announced today, there is no longer any business within HIE that can't be exported across all verticals, ISG was a good buy for Superior, but a better sale for HIE! The size of the middleware market so dwarfed the benefit to be gained by continuing with ISG, that maintaining ISG any longer would have been a very poor decision, but placing them with a key player in healthcare and coming away a strong alliance and not just cash, was brilliant. Two significant gains on one strategic move is very cool.

Now with nothing to stand in the way of continuing to FOCUS on the big WIN we are off to the races! I like this move a lot, I suspect the analysts will also...it makes all the sense in the world....kudos to MR. Murrie!

My first post here but have followed HDIE and middleware since the summer. Bought some HDIE in Dec:
Message 6883921

The Arthur Andersen alliance is great news, having them on board as an middleware implementor will help raise Cloverleaf's visibility.
It's not an exclusive deal, from what I read in the press release.
That would lead me to believe the other big 5(or whatever # are still around) may want form some partnership(s) also.

Divestiture looks good too, focusing on the EAI the smart thing to do and some cash to boot.

The lack of HDIE specific content on thread is bothersome. If members would go to the clubhouse for such matters it would be better (Ca. Mendicino area awesome too!) My special thanks to David F for bring the subject up and Gone Fishing for his industry insight unavailable to layfolks like me(you too David).

A happy and prosperous 99 to all HDIE holders.
