I agree with you Ken, but I am not just invested in CCUR or just following VOD technology. I spend an awful lot of time speaking with players, the FCC and analysts about the overall issues involved in this broadband proliferation. As you can see in the front page WSJ article today, the issue of access that I pointed out last night is a major key as to which technologies or delivery methods are embraced. Now imagine the cable went with an IP based VOD delivery method for their broadband network and Congress mandated an open network to any or all ISP's for an access fee. What a disaster. These ISP would be pumping though bandwidth hoggin video and screwing the cables own services and VOD delivery.

THe current VOD model is not only very economical and reliable in how it will work, but it will set up a border to prevent movies coming into the homes of their subs through other sources not authorized or sharig revenues with them. I think we need to be just as concerened about the changing regulatory and business enviornment as we are about the technolgy. Fortunetly, the MSO's understand these issues well and that is a benefit to us. The media needs to find new angles sponsered by the emerging companies that urge the writing of the story. Remember how Mirimba was going to change the net with push technology. Hundreds of articles were written and today that company has been pushed into the intranet arena and out of the interent because it's paradigm was not embraced. We will continue to see these suggestive and question asking articles. We must evaluate any real risks that may be embraced by the cable companies. I have not seen that yet.

By the way, I am on the West Coast with a lap top this week, so I have a little more time to post in the morning. I am also aware of the many spelling errors I make, but I am just to lazy to go back and fix them.
