This is an off topic question. However, because you have been very helpful when I asked off topic questions in the past I thought I would try again. I am looking for a community or an area within a larger municipality that has the majority of the essential services within walking distance, one mile or less, to move to. On first try I was unable to pass a vision test required to obtain a drivers license. I suspect different glasses won't help as I just had an eye exam last November. Hence I am looking for an area to move to where having an auto is not essential. Minimum requirements are room for a 50 ft. by 50 ft garden and a 150 day growing season. Preferences are Southeast USA and good public transportation. Does anybody have any suggestions or sources of information about communities that are pedestrian friendly? Thanks in advance Howard R.
