I agree with your basic point -- when someone comes running into the room and says "I got the thing at the auction ! I was the high bid !" -- my reaction is determined by the following : is the person (entity) making the statement a moron (e.g. - people buying real estate in west Los Angeles), or is the successful bidder someone who knows what they are doing ? In this case (especially since QCOM was not the high bidder in previous Brazil auction), I would guess that this was a smart acquisition. Jon.
