RESEARCH ALERT-EVEREN starts P-Com CHICAGO, Jan 15 (Reuters) - EVEREN Securities said Friday it initiated coverage of P-Com Inc. with an intermediate term market perform rating and a long term outperform rating. -- P-Com makes network access systems for the telecommunications market. -- EVEREN says in a report P-Com appear attractively valued for patient investors with a time horizon of more than 12 months. -- Says the stock could move into the 18-20 range ''over time once investors are more confident of future profitable growth.'' -- Says the company has embarked on a serious effort to return to profitability in 2000 and possibly sooner. -- P-Com shares were up 1/2 at 7-1/4 in morning activity on Nasdaq.
