Doug,that is unbelievable. The order probably sat on your brokers desk and was never entered. When you sent the cancel they found the order and cancelled it.

What non-professionals fail to understand is that sometimes in fast markets the option floor trades that are reported can be behind as much as 5 to 15 minutes. Depends on the volume and how swamped they are. Happens even on the CBOE -- but especially the regional exchanges.
