I view not meeting Lewinsky directly a far more telling and serious matter than delving gratuitously into intimate sexual details.

For the latter, who knows, there may have been some far-fetched but reasonable(legal) argument for doing so. But not showing simple personal integrity in assuring himself as lead prosecutor of the legitimacy of his key witness - her position, her story, her feelings, and even her own personal integrity - discredits, in my opinion, his whole case.

The arguments citing delegation, dependence on "competent deputies",etc.,as surrogates for his own individual in-depth assessment of the focal evidence/sources supporting the key allegations, don't wash.

Not in this case, where Starr is the de facto arbiter on allegations leading to the possible removal of the President of this Nation. To me his actions (or inactions) are totally without merit and highly irresponsible.

And frankly I don't trust what he says anymore because of this. It also shows a kind of arrogance and elitism towards "little" people which regrettably is getting to be the hallmark of his whole prosecutorial program.
