blessed, Good article. I read that article at dailynews.yahoo.com too. I think someone made an error in translating from Chinese to English. The sentence "China has 540,000 computers linked to the Internet and 14,000 Internet service providers" is not right. 540,000 computers divided by 14,000 is 38 computers per provider. 1.5 million users divided by 14,000 is 107 users per provider. Either way that's obviously in error. I guess the Chinese character "Zang" (station) was translated as ISP. For example, AOL has two numbers (two "ISP stations", each is a server with a modem pool) in Montgomery. That should not be referred to as two ISP since they all belong to one ISP -- AOL. All 43 Chinese ISPs are listed at east.net . GTCI's partner Shenzhen Newsnet (http://newsnet.szptt.net.cn:80/) is part of Shenzhen PTT which is owned by China Telecom. yongzhi
