<OT> CTC, That is always a risk. However, that was already known and I am still happy that this real situation didn't blow up in the HKD fashion with triple digit overnight repo rates. For an export-oriented economy with strong growth less govt. spending will slow the economy to an extent, but I suspect nowhere near what sky-high interest interest rates can inflict. And the weak currency will be beneficial for Brazilian exporters (though not necessarily for US exporters to Brazil like DELL even if they manufacture locally due to higher component costs as you had earlier mentioned). As an example, consider S. Korea's recovery. -Apratim.
