Ummm...I suspect he has to first remove it from the box, then remove the lid from the case, gain access to the cpu, remove the cpu fan/heatsink, clean off any heat conductive goop, then read the markings on the cpu. I suspect somewhere along that line you end up voiding the manufacturer's warranty. On the other hand, its Compaq, so trust them to have given you a quality system including cpu.

The AFR66 downgrade will only affect AMD's financial performance (just look at its damage done to Q4! Ouch!!) and will not affect its customer, especially if the customer bought a computer from CPQ.

It seems today's option expiration pushed AMD toward 22 ½ by market close. The selling presure may resume on Tuesday.
