1-2-3 Bingo!

Paul, you know I sense you are more than just a little serious about this.

I agree 100%.

Novell needs more balls, fire and vision. They have everything esle covered.

Hey,

You know I've put some thought on this home networking issue. Sure there needs to be someone who can build a real affordable hub that allows you to connect a printer to it as well as an analog or digital phone & modem (such as WebRamp or other ISDN hubs).

What I see as the major sticking point to all this is what if the home user has no NICs for the existing PCs he want's to attach to this home network?

Until PC makers use integrated NICs, this is all moot. I can't see someone spending the time and effort to install NICs into each PC AND wire the house with CAT 5 cable. (I think wireless will be the flashpoint here).

There needs to be more than just a simple file&print sharing OS that can run on EPROM (small memory footprint) or a small hard drive. There are other issues that need to be addressed.

a) cabling or wireless connections
b) installing NICs and configuring them
c) bandwidth!

Just some thoughts.

Also, does anyone remember Personal NetWare Light? 2 user version that ran on PCs....??
