OT Hi Tim, Look at the top, left corner of the SI page. You should see an area title, "Message," and under it, "Inbox," then to the right, "To Me" and "From." If you see a number at the Inbox area it means: 1. Someone posted a reply to a posting you made on one of the threads; or 2. You have a private message. Instead of looking for postings to you on a thread, you can click on the "Inbox" to see messages to you, private and on threads. People here at SI can send each other messages by clicking on a person's name to get the person's profile. Once in the profile, if a person accepts private messages [and most people do], you will see an area to click on the top right so you can send a message. This is different than sending things via e-mail. Within the profiles of individuals is a place to click if you want to "bookmark" the profile. If you do this and later want to send the person a private message, all you have to do is click on "People" under "Bookmarks" [middle of SI main page for threads]. Another thing: If you want to make sure someone sees your posting, it is best to do a reply to either the posting they made or a posting that person made later. Sometimes threads get pretty busy and its easy to miss a posting someone was supposed to read, i.e. your "net babe" almost missed this posting because you replied to a posting to Matt :o) Regards, Lynn P.S. Now to ruin your weekend, Tim: I'm not the Lynn you think I am. There was another Lynn here on SI until about a week ago. Then she changed her name to something slightly different to cut-down on confusion. I never made any postings to that other thread so I knew I couldn't be the Lynn you wanted. Besides NAVR, I normally hang-out on the CPQ, SUNW, CSCO, or EMC threads. I would spend more time over at STM if someone else on SI bought the stock so the thread members were more than me, myself, and I. So, alas, wrong net babe [bet you wife will be laughing about this!].
