AOL also trades on the Pacific, Boston, Philly,and NASDAQ exchanges.
Place an order with an online broker and it's filled within 60 seconds, hardly enough time to have the Datek floor trader walk over to the AOL post and shout out the order. This is the shape of things to come, the NYSE is a dinosauer that will become obsolete due to electronic trading.
