I just don't know what to think about Y2k from one day to the next.
OK, our electric provider said he was 85-90% sure there would be no problems, but when I mentioned my father was retired from the company which is now merged with theirs, he asked about his job, and how he could be contacted as they planned to call back all retired to make up for possible computer problems.(Calling back people who may have moved or passed away is not a very good contengency plan IMHO).
From one source, I found there is a total reduction in generation capacity from 15 years ago, while later it states 98% of the time there is an 20-55% excess of capacity. Yet, From teh President's Y2k site
I find that 4% of all expect to use an unwritten Y2k management plan or no plan at all!
If the problems are stacked against each other, the % could add up badly. If not, no problems will exist.
