Do you know where I can find it in writing that the first X number of contracts must
filled by market maker for a market order? Such as guidelines from CBOE? Might help
my case.

straddler,

I will have to look for an online source tomorrow. No time this evening but I will locate it. I believe it to be an SEC rule but it may be an exchange rule. I know it is a rule from when I used a full service broker. Prior to AMZN reducing my equity, I use to write or buy options and often as many as fifty contracts. My broker, who was very good, often did it in sets of ten because we were guranteed the bid or ask price for the first ten contracts each time. It is definitly a rule.
