This guy Crabb on ZD obviously doesn't know what it feels like to be holding a basket of Microsoft call options while he's writing his Ellison-like anti Bill electronic rag. But jeez, you'd think that Microsofts own star MIT economist might have been informed that Gates cooked up the survey himself. Bet he was more than a little red faced.

Long live Abbie Cohen, I say put her next in line to replace Uncle Greenspan.

Up 8, whew, big sigh of relief. Doubt it will happen, but I give a 25% chance they'll announce a split. I know purists won't agree, but
a split has got to be good for another 8 point pop, even though it's getting two nickels for a dime and all that.

>>I am sure that andy is a very successful investor. His analysis of MSFT is very objective and insightful. If you check his profile, you will see that his posts exhibit a real deep involvement in high-tech investing....<<

I worked at MSFT during dos 5, win3.1x, win95, and ie3. During the win95 product cycle I saw the starry-eyed minions descend upon the company. That is one reason I left.

I met one minion who stated she thought "Gates would the a good leader to take the human race to the stars."

In another case I saw a close personal friend get shafted in a bad way by the then-nascent MSN.

THen there's the thing about age discrimination...on and on and on...

I know all corporations do this, but that doesn't make it right.

Maybe I'll get to testify in that Caldera suit... <g>

Oh... getting back to what you wrote... it's interesting how you attack the messenger and not the message there.

FWIW
