Well there certainly was a lot of "press releases" about Fossbacks three tumbles and a jump during the interest rate cuts and what about the timing of the "surprise" cut? If that wasn't some kind of intervention, what was it? Maybe he just thinks of it as intervention in the credit markets ... sounds like Slick's finessing his answers to some of the questions put to him.

I think that's probably true. But it doesn't mean that Rubin & Co. didn't use the Treasury Dept.'s "slush fund"...you know, the one they used to tide Mexico over. And it doesn't mean AG didn't tell Rubin, who told... AG's been around long enough to know the value of structuring something so that "deniability" is built in.
