This sector has always been prone to wild swings. The unusually high valuations we are currently seeing may be partially attributable to the high market valuations generally. As for backing and filling, I think we will see that - have patience. It is very common for this sector to run up in advance of earnings and then sell off immediately after earnings are announced, even when results are good. I have seen it time and time again.

I don't know what expectations led investors to bid the sector up so high so soon. I think that we will see a continuation of the gradual improvement in business in this industry, but whether it will be enough to satisfy investors' expectations in the short term is anybody's guess. The only thing I know for sure is that this sector has surprised me before, and is likely to do so again, one way or another.

According to E*Trade, KLAC and SVGI kick off the earnings season for the sector on Tuesday morning, followed by NVLS on Tuesday afternoon and ASYT on Wednesday afternoon.

Justa, as a Bear, you are not alone... Although I'm a Longtime Bull I trade some everyday. I sell some thus becoming a Bear for several days while helping level the Step (daily lower HI/LO); then I buy some thus becoming a Bull for several days while helping build the Riser (daily higher HI/LO)... Before, I hate the Bears; now, I like them a lot --- they give me additional means for profit!
