Yes, Tesla was a genius. But perhaps lucky for us some of his genius was not developed. His broadcast power was the marvel of the age and would have trashed Edison's fledgling utilities industry, but I wonder how much cancer there would be today if we were transmitting raw energy via the methods he had demonstrated on a smaller scale to the groups of financiers who bankrolled his experiments?

In any case, Edison too was a genius in his own right and as you said a businessman -- a badge of honor -- for it is freedom that allowed the businessman and antiquated the serf.
