SI started charging for membership about a year- yar and a half ago. Members who had registered before then, were "grand-fathered" and apparently are exempt from any membership fee. Non-members can read posts, but can not make posts. Also, when non-members read pages, they have ad banners. members who log in have banner free pages. As for Marketwatch, it really is a drop in the bucket for CBS. DBCC, the other owner of Marketwatch was down 6-7 points on Friday, but had run up hugely in anticipation. CBS looks poised for a big move. Larry
