>>The first line of defense is the working NT operating system on your second drive. You will be able to access the files on the first NT drive and you may be able to fix what you screwed up.

Not quite, ZP. The FIRST line of defense is you can get at your
data that you haven't backed up to save it no matter what you
screwed up (unless it's the file system or the data itself).

The SECOND line of defense is that you may be able to fix
the things you screwed up without resorting to backups.

I don't care HOW rigorous your backups are, they're NEVER up
to date completely unless you employ certain high availability
strategies, and even then the best you can guarantee is
transaction integrity -- you updated it or you didn't but
you didn't half update it. You can still lose transactions;
it's the nature of things.

ZP

I named the file 1001.pqi. The
next Drive Image file will be 1002.pqi.

I used the date name for my first DI and was also left with a feeling that there had to be something better with more info. I like the spread sheet idea but with the dated naming (which is also sequential)so there is an indication of when the DI was done and whats in it.

"Drive Image backup. I named the file 1001.pqi."

Wow, I have lots of catchup to do. 80 posts since I checked just yesterday! This thread always seems to get lively outside of trading hours, which makes sense.

For the moment, wanted to make sure you'd upgraded to DI 2.01. There, you're given the option to add extensive comments to each drive image file, among lots of other goodies.
