Borzou, that columnist is missing the point. The point isn't whether we have politicians who say one thing and then do another. The point is whether we are willing to allow the Constitution and our laws to be trampled by William Clinton. The other people referred to as hypocrites never committed perjury in court. Never had sex in their place of work with interns. Never obstructed a legal investigative process. Never bribed others to lie for them. And never tried to hide material evidence in a civil suit.

It's ludicrous to suggest that because people believe perjury and obstruction of justice is wrong and the President should be impeached because of it. That their lives should be examined under a microscope by a pornographer, and unless they have a pope like background they have no right to insist the laws be enforced. Using that logic, no judge could find any citizen guilty of perjury. Or anything else.

It's makes for a nice liberal media sound bite to say "everyones a hypocrite". But the fact is the level of abuse and criminal activity by William Jefferson Clinton is his doing, and his doing alone.

I would imagine the 13 century Kings used a similar rationalization regarding their illegalities. No one is above the law in the United States of America. There is one question to be asked. One in which the press seems unwilling to truly examine. Are the charges true?

Anyone with half-a-brain who has been following this travesty for the last year would have to admit that he is guilty. It's really as simple as that. The rest is just smoke and mirrors drummed up by a panicky press looking for any excuse to protect the person they voted 90% to elect.

The case made today was compelling and exacting in it's logic. Why isn't the press discussing that?

Care to guess? :-)

Michael

Thanks for the article. It's still ultimately about our decline and fall, but at least Rich helps us to see the ironic humor in it.

Lately I had taken to calling this tragic farce Impeachment-gate, but I think I like Forni-gate. I'll have to play with that one for awhile.
Thanks,

-BLT

"In the land of the pious hypocrite, the honest pornographer is king."

Great quote! Add this one to the other great quote : "When politics becomes pornographic, pornographers become pundits!"

Btw, Flynt says that the "big fish" that he has not yet "out"ed is a Congressman. Bigger than Bob Barr. I cannot think of anybody other than Tom DeLay. Maybe that explains why the scoundrel is lying low these days! Anybody see the rascal anywhere on TV recently?
