It appears you do not appreciate my sense of humor. Pity. Jeff

Justa,

>>I hate to bring up fundamentals but AMAT is at a P/B of 5 plus with a historic high in the past five years of 5.3. It has a P/S of 6.1 compared to a five year historic high of 6.8. <<

Thanks for your AMAT P/B and P/S analysis. My question is what sales and earning numbers are you using in your calculation, four quarter trailing numbers or four quarter forward estimate numbers?

I got the following trailing numbers of AMAT from Baseline Company Profiles as of 1/13/1999 when AMAT closed at $54 7/8:

P/S of 4.9 (with a 5 year range of 1.0 to 5.2),
P/B of 5.8 (with a 5 year range of 1.6 to 6.8),
P/Cash Flow of 30.7 (with a 5 year range of 5.2 to 32)

Do you think a rapidly rising sale numbers in next 4 quarter can justify the current valuation?

Thanks.

Justa,

You're a little thin-skinned aren't you? I'm surprised you responded the way you did to Jeffrey for his post. Well, maybe not after considering your opening page for the Brinker thread. Seems that if one does not think like minded they can "go away" as you say. Tolerance is not your string suit, as evidenced by the Brinker thread.
