A friend who claims that he is very familiar with cable and ADSL told me that he thinks ADSL will win because its upload speed is a lot faster than Cable modem. I said to him that I never read an article about the upload speed disadvantage of cable modem. I think he is wrong. Does any one know this is a fact?

I know that. That's why I said 'may'. However, there is a fundamental topological issue that should not be overlooked.
