Can't say as to filemaker; I know nothing about it. Access, however, is the genuine article. A true relational database with a good application development environment, integrated VBA and a graphical QBE interface that writes SQL for you. I almost never have to resort to SQL except for highly specialized queries. Like anything, Access has its quirks, but nevertheless it's a very rich database environment. It's also relationally complete if such things make a difference to you. Filemaker may be just as good for all I know, but I can strongly recommend Access. There isn't a heck of a lot of software around for which I'd say that. Besides, I can answer questions about Access <ggg>. Spots
