Sig,

IMO, the root of this case is a political vendetta against Clinton.

I expect the Republican party will undergo a purging in the coming years as a consequence of this matter.

I do not expect George Bush to run because he has a hard drinking womanizing past of his own. He would be fair game for this environment of vicious personal politics. If I were in his shoes I would not put my family or myself through it.

If the senate is smart it will decide that this matter is not an impeachable matter and move on without any delay to the true business of the nation. Clinton would not be found guilty in a court of perjury or obstruction of justice for the reasons I discussed. So why should the senate find him guilty?

By the way I did not vote for Clinton in either election. Also, consider myself an independent. I am looking fro a few good people to vote for. But I am disgusted by the hypocritical and dishonest behavior of the Republican party in this matter. I am disgusted by the attempt of these lawyers in congress to equate perjury to lying and self defense to obstruction of justice. They know better but they are trying to fool the common man in this show trial. They think we are stupid!

The US should never have show trials. Everyone should have the right to defend themselves in any legal proceeding without being characterized as arrogant.

They have fooled a lot of people on this matter equating perjury to lying. Equating misleading to perjury. George Stephanopoulous had it wrong too. So much for the search for the truth!
