X, Body language can in no way account for certain experiences I've had where I felt I absolutely MUST call someone who needed me, and in fact they did. I am not unique-- I've read, and heard of many such examples of this phenomena. Mothers, in particular, seem to be very tuned into their children's vibrations when they are in distress--even when they can't see them. All of existence is vibration--brain waves, by definition, are clearly not exceptions, and I believe there are certain times when our minds are particularly effective receptors of others' thoughts--especially when we trust our native intuition and intelligence.

I agree with you on the telepathy-body signal conflict. I suspect that better measurements will show certain cerebral electric fields with small and rapidly decreasing potential. We may even learn to detect and measure these fields. The techs at Kaiser have been measuring my brain and sensors and find that I miss high frequencies and peripheral flashing dots. My signal processing sensitivity is rapidly deteriorating with age. Yet my memory content is good enough to fill in the 14+ kc in Bach's unaccompanied violin sonatas (and even the partitas) and give me as much information and pleasure as ever. With people I know well, or happen to have a good impedence match with, I can detect more information than a signal processor or average eavesdropping FBI agent could because I have data about previous messages from the transmitter that allow me efficiently to fill in drop outs (intuition it's called) -- processing is automatic and near instantaneous and requires no conscious rational processing. When talking to a lover, even a new one, I can often predict words in the ends of sentences or even paragraphs before I read or hear the ending words (Hamlet's "My prophetic soul" to Hamlet Sr.'s news of his murder. Hamlet had figured it out himself from his own paranoia and his father's ghost confirmed it. Many reported alien citings may rely on the same unstudied mechanism -- memories of what chinaware looked like in previous photographs used to fill in gaps from lightning flashes. Desmond Morris in the series The Human Animal on TLC showed pictures of a Japanese junior exec unconsciously and unintentionally mimicking his boss. He was (what we call in management) "modeling" unconsciously -- learning how to fit in act and rise in the organization. Soon he would be identified as suitable for higher management. He acted exactly like one. He could not tell you what his model's manners were, he simply learned and replicated them instinctively. Social learning at its most practical -- but woe to him if he starts walking with his tail up like an alpha wolf before he can crush his mentor in a fight. Profound and terrifying news for parents, lovers, and teachers.
